If you've been rolling on your own for a while, you'll notice pretty quickly that Monopoly GO opens up once friends are involved. The good thing is, adding people isn't buried in some odd settings menu. It's built right into the main screen, so you can do it between rolls without much fuss.



Where to find the friends menu
Start by opening Monopoly GO on your phone or tablet and let the main board load fully. Don't rush it; the buttons can take a second to settle, especially after an event pop-up. Look down at the bottom right of the screen and tap the Friends icon. That takes you into the Friends and Family area, which is basically the game's social hub. From there, you can check who's already on your list, see friend activity, and move over to the Add Friends tab when you're ready to bring in someone new.



Using your own friend code
The Friend Code option is usually the simplest way to add a specific person. In the Add Friends tab, you'll see your personal code, often starting with MGO and followed by letters and numbers. There's normally a copy button right beside it, which saves you from typing the whole thing out by hand. Most players just copy it and send it through a message, group chat, email, or social app. A few useful habits can save everyone time.



Send the full code, including the MGO prefix.
Double-check that no spaces were added when pasting it.
Tell your friend your in-game name so they know it's really you.
Share codes with active players, not random inactive accounts.


Searching for someone else
If your friend has already sent you their code, you'll do the process the other way round. Stay in the Add Friends section and look for the small magnifying glass near your own code. Tap it, and a Find Friends box should pop up. Type or paste the full code into the field. Again, keep the MGO at the front, because missing even one character can stop the search from working. Hit the green Search button, wait a moment, and the game should show the matching profile. Once you're sure it's the right person, send the request and let them accept it.



Why a good friend list matters
A bigger friend list isn't just for show. It helps when you're trying to finish albums, collect extra rewards, or keep up with short events that move fast. You'll also have more chances to trade stickers instead of waiting days for the right pack to drop.
