syncovery profile, RESTRICT to a certain machine

Postby spagnola on Fri Aug 03, 2018 9:23 am

is there a way in syncovery to RESTRICT a profile to a certain machine?
I set up syncovery as PORTABLE. I have main machine "HOME12", and emergency tablet "HOME15"
to date, I hve defined the LEFT side as \\HOme12, or \\HOME15. This does restrict it to that machine, but if I want the profile to run on EITHER machine, then I have to create two profiles

IF I define LEFT side as "C:\", is there a way in the profile to RESTRICT this to machine \\HOME12?
then if I want ot run it on HOME15, I can remove the restriction temporarily, and still have the same file selections?

(I have the profile set to run SCHEDULED on HOME12, but do NOT want it to run scheduled on HOME15, but if the same INI file is on both machine, and scheduling is on, then it tries to run on HOME15

thanks

Hello,
you could use a volume label instead of C:\

For example,

HOME12C:\

So you just need to label the C drives differently.

thanks for reply, I will givbe that a try !
just to confirm, no slash needed between HOME12 and c:\?

ALSO, re: forum software obsolete (not sending me notifications of posts), your reply was that you are going to create a new forum at syncovery.com soon - PLEASE do not lose the current posts, even if they are put into a searchable archive !! They are invaluable.

I have seen too many forum sites, when updated, lose all their prior stuff !

thanks
