Case Sensitive Syncs

Postby jordack on Tue May 29, 2018 9:06 am

Is there a way to enable case sensitivity?

I’m looking to sync a folder from a Synology, shared via SMB, to Backblaze B2 using a Windows host.

Both the Synology and Backblaze are case sensitive, Syncovery gave error about duplicate folders.
Synology’s Cloud Sync doesn’t work because of the case issue, ended up destroying the data.

If I could not have the left side so case sensitive I would, it’s really dumb on how it’s done. It’s outside of my control

Yes, see strict case sensitive mode under Comparison->More in the profile.

But I do not believe it can work via smb, because Windows may access the wrong folder if two case versions exist. Please use FTP or SFTP instead.

Even better, use the Linux version directly on the server.
