block data sync

Postby peter_barlabas on Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:21 am

Hello!
I'm interresting about this software. I downloaded and installed the demo, but I couldn't set it up well.
I have 4 .gdb database file, I would copy just the changes every day. I created a task, and I set the “Partial File Updating” in the special tab, but when I started the task, the complete copy was started.
How could I set up block level copy?

Best regards: Péter

Hello,
the first copy has to be a complete one because Syncovery does not know your older copy on the destination yet - unless you use the Syncovery Remote Service on the other end, to generate checksums.

In addition, it may be hard to tell if it is skipping blocks just by watching it. You need to look at the log file at the end.

Make sure Syncovery is running on the same machine where the database file is stored, so that it can directly access the file and look for changed blocks. If it has to do that over the network or Internet, there may not be any benefit - again unless you use the Syncovery Remote Service.
