The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted

Postby stealth99 on Wed Nov 17, 2010 7:16 am

When I try to run a profile (WEBDAV) manually on a Domain Controller I get the following error

Cannot access right path: https://www........
The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted
ERROR 5: access denied.

The synchronization was prepared but not carried out.
can't access right path, preparation not OK.

This is some obscure Windows-related security problem and currently the only known solution is to use Superflexible version 4.97.

Hello,

you will now find version 5.30rc1 on our web site which has a new WebDAV library. This should fix the error that you reported ("The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted").

On the Internet dialog, please choose Libray: 2 (SBB SSL). In addition, you may have to choose a different Authentication setting, for example NTLM or Digest. But "Basic" is preferable if it works.

If everything works and you're not using Basic Authentication, you may also be able to optimize the communication with the new checkbox on the second tab sheet of the Internet dialog: Use Expect: 100-continue. However this is not supported by all servers, so you just need to try it. It prevents extraneous double uploads if Basic Authentication is not used.

Cheers,
Tobias Giesen

I had the same error using FTP over SSL, Explicit.
Changed different settings, nothing worked until I changed the Library dropdown from 1 (default) to 2.
This is in the security tab once you press the Internet button for the destination folder.
