Licensing

Postby Naed on Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:07 am

Hi,

A question about simultaneous use for the five-pack business license. On the purchasing page it suggests that we are able to install on multiple PC's but only allowed to run the software on 5 PC's simultaneously. This sounded perfect for our situation (small company with multiple machines, some people with 2 PC's running simultaneously), but looking at the Software License Agreement suggests that installing "...on multiple computers or a network for simultaneous use by more than one user or with simultaneously running timers requires multiple licenses to be purchased."

Our intention had been to run the profiles in a staggered way using the scheduler (so 5 PC backups at a time). Does the license explicitly preclude this?

Thanks,
Dean

Yes, when the scheduler is running, even while idle, the license is in use.

Hi,

I am testing this software and seems to work fine! :D
I have a small bussiness ( self-employed without employees ) but have 5 different computers.

They are not used at the same time ( depending on the work I need to do and where ) and I will not use scheduling, just need to back up to hard disk from the most used desktop and then from time to time sync the other computers from that hard disk storage.

Can I use the 1 licence professional or do I need to buy the small bussiness one?
I mean, can I install and activate the licence on my 5 computers at the same, as long as I dont run the software on more then one computer at the same time?
Does the licence need to be renewed anualy in order to get updates or how does this work please?

Thx,
Annie

Hello,

yes you can keep it installed on that many computers. The activation is not done over the Internet, so the actual usage is not monitored.

The license is perpetual. Free updates and upgrades are included for two years.
