Lost zip password

Postby cateyed on Sun Mar 10, 2013 10:43 pm

Hi all,

I know how ridiculous this sounds, but I'm an idiot and I suddenly can't for the life of me remember my zip password that I made for my Syncovery backup.

Thankfully this is just preventative, because I don't need it this very minute but I will obviously if I need to restore something in the future!

So I guess I have 2 questions:

1. Can I recover it some how?
2. If not (I assume not), if I change the password in Syncovery, will that re-backup all my documents? Or will I have to delete everything and backup fresh?

Many thanks

Max

If you still have the profiles in the software, then you can send your INI file to support@syncovery.com and we can retrieve the password. If you also have other passwords in the INI file (FTP, email etc.), you may want to make a copy first and remove those and then restore the copy.

If you change the password, the program will not automatically back up everything again.
