RapidDrive duplicates problem

Postby FrantisekHoralek on Sat Feb 02, 2013 7:30 am

Hi.
I use RapidDrive for backing up. I copy from my local drive (named F) to external drive (RapidDrive named R in my system). I want to compare files only by filename, which is unique.

It works mostly perfect, but sometimes (and I do not know when/why exactly) it starts to copy files which are already on the destination drive, making more and more copies of them (RapidDrive creates new file with number in parentheses in the end of filename). I cannot realise if it is my settings problem, or another type of problem.

If there are no new files to copy and I run the profile manually by right clicking and choosing "Run in (any of the three modes)", it does nothing wrong, saying "Nothing to be done" correctly. But then, after nonspecified time or circumstaces, Syncovery starts to copy files which are already on the target drive and should not be copied...

Settings exported to XML attached:

(58.79 KiB) Downloaded 209 times

Can you help me, please?

I think you need to go to the tab sheet Files->More and choose:

"Never Replace Any Files".

I will try, we will see after a few days from now. Tahnk you.

But it is still unclear, why Syncovery from time to time uploads anything what is present, even if those file are already present on target drive...

It could be an intermittent problem with the drive, i.e. it appears to be empty. In that case, this option won't help either. It could help to use the Destination Cache option from the Special tab sheet.
