Run Sync on Windows Startup, not User Login

Postby duomenox on Sat Jan 19, 2013 6:56 pm

Hello,

I'm evaluating this product for a personal project of mine.
I am creating a RAM disk at boot, and want to use this product to sync files on startup (prior to another automatic service starting [delayed start]) keep the files on the RAM disk synced every 5 minutes, then performa final sync at shutdown.

I'd also like to have the sync wait 10 seconds before the startup sync, if that is possible.

I have almost everything working except the sync on startup. The sync only happens when a user logs in. I need it to sync at computer startup instead.

I've tried to use background sync, forground sync, and using the serivce and none of the options seem to make a difference.

The only checkboxes I see in the schedule options are for windows logon... I don't see anything to allow the job to start with the computer. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

I'd prefer to use the service as ther will rarely be anyone logging on the the server..

Thank you for taking a look at this... it may just be something I am missing.

You need to install the scheduler as a service and use a schedule setting such as every 10 seconds or anything else that causes an immediate run. But it must be a repetetive scheduling setting. The two "Run Upon Login/Logout" checkboxes are ignored by the service. Those are handled by the backgrround scheduler and are specific to a user session.
