MEGA cloud acct, not creating folders

Postby astro46 on Thu May 17, 2018 10:41 am

I am trying syncovery 8, dev 27. In trying to set up a number of backups to Mega, I've spent huge amounts of time dealing with Syncovery's error messages about not being able to create folders at Mega. (I haven't tried other cloud accts). It will set up the initial top folder, but not sub folders. Syncovery will then spend 20 minutes trying to copy files to folders it couldn't set up, and then end with error message about all the files it didn't copy. In addition, if I try to cancel the job, Syncovery goes into "not responding" and I have to "close program". I can setup subfolders manually at Mega. then sometimes Syncovery will proceed with backup. or not.

In addition, I have tried creating an empty folder in one folder on my computer, ran the Mega job and Syncovery didn't see the new folder to backup. Backing up to a local flash drive, it does see the empty test folder.

I have syncovery set to create empty folders.

Is there some setting that needs to be changed?
Would I be better off going to ver 7.98?

Hello,
apparently our Mega implementation is no longer fully compatible with the cloud service. We will update it as soon as possible. Right now you probably cannot use it with Mega.

ok. thanks for the honesty.
Is there a way to get notification of when a compatible version is released? short of checking back, looking for a changelog and hoping that mega changes are noted.

if an a mega compatible update is released, will it be in both the 7.x and 8 versions?

I see that syncovery has rc1 released. seems Mega folder creation, (therefore Mega sync) hasn't been fixed?

btw: Syncovery seems to work well if the folders and subfolders are created manually (by me). It will copy contents into the folders, but able to create them. So if there are any new folders in folder marked for backup, those folders and files in them will produce error. curiously, Syncovery will proceed for quite a while as if it uploading files after giving the first error message, as if it is really uploading. then eventually quits.
