Handling uploading big files changes

Postby solemgar on Tue Jan 17, 2017 5:04 pm

Hello!

I had the notion (maybe I am mistaken) that syncovery handles uploading only file changes (ala CBT) instead of reuploading the whole file again if it changes. Is there any special configuration for this?

I ask since I have a rather big VM disk file that I would like to back up and changes quite frequently, so uploading it every time it changes would be a no go :(

Thanks!

There are various prerequisites and modes. If you back up to cloud storage, the only way is to use "Synthetic Backup", which uploads the changed blocks in separate zip files every time. The restore operation will reassemble the desired file version from the many incremental zip files on the backup storage.
